Dundee Jazz Festival to return with five days of live music across the city

Dundee Jazz Festival returns from 11–15 November, bringing local talent and visiting musicians to stages across the city.
From jazz and blues to soul and Afro-Fusion, this year’s programme offers opportunities to discover different sounds in venues including Canvas, Bonar Hall, Marryat Hall and Verdant Works Museum.
Opening the festival on Wednesday 11 November, the Colin Steele Quintet will perform the music of Miles Davis at Canvas.
Thursday’s programme includes T.C.KYLIE at Marryat Hall and Ali Affleck’s Rhythm Rascals at Steeple Church.
Dundee musicians also feature prominently, with performances from double bassist Seth Bennett at Verdant Works Museum on Friday 13 November and saxophonist and vocalist Kimberley Tessa at Bonar Hall on Saturday 14 November.
Saturday evening brings Aberdeen collective Raven AfriKulture & Friends to Canvas. Its Afro Indie programme champions Black and African music in Scotland, spanning Afro-Fusion, soul, jazz, alternative R&B and hip-hop.
On Sunday afternoon, the Scottish National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Dundee University Big Band will perform at Bonar Hall, with each band playing its own set before joining forces for a shared finale.
Alongside the concerts, the programme includes jam sessions, children’s activities and workshops, bringing opportunities to listen, learn and get involved.
