The three owners were long-standing staff members of the legendary Groucho’s store, which closed in March 2020 due to the pandemic. Determined to keep the city’s record-buying culture alive, they launched Thirteen Records on Union Street, drawing inspiration from beloved artists like Big Star for its look and name.
