Carriageway closures and traffic management measures on the Tay Road Bridge will be lifted early next month as the final phase of a major refurbishment and replacement programme is completed.
Dundee City Council have confirmed that the southbound carriageway, heading towards Fife, will reopen on 10 September, after around six months of work, bringing an end to all bridge restrictions.
For the first time since the bridge was constructed in 1966, the surface of both carriageways was entirely removed down to the concrete bridge deck.
Waterproofing was applied, and a new asphalt surface was laid on top. Additionally, 92 new expansion or movement joints were installed.
Work to resurface the on and off ramps at the north end of the bridge, in Dundee, will also be completed in time for the bridge reopening on 10th September.
