The McManus are launching a new exhibition celebrating Dundee nightlife nostalgia

A new exhibition celebrating Dundee's nightlife is set to open later this year, and organisers are asking the public to help bring the city's stories after dark to life.

Dundee Nights, which will be hosted at The McManus, will explore how generations of Dundonians have socialised, celebrated and been entertained across the city over the years.

From legendary gigs and unforgettable club nights to family celebrations and evenings spent with friends, the exhibition aims to capture the many different ways people have experienced Dundee after dark.

To help tell those stories, the museum is inviting members of the public to submit objects connected to memorable nights out in the city.

The team is particularly interested in items that hold a special connection to Dundee's nightlife and entertainment scene. These could include ticket stubs, concert memorabilia, band t-shirts, photographs, keepsakes, posters or unusual objects linked to a memorable evening.

Organisers hope the exhibition will showcase not only the venues and events that have shaped Dundee's nightlife, but also the personal stories and memories attached to them.

Anyone with an item they would like to be considered for the exhibition can submit details through an online form. Submissions are open until 10 July 2026.

The exhibition promises to offer a fascinating look at how Dundee's social scene has evolved over the decades, while highlighting the people, places and moments that have helped create lasting memories for generations of Dundonians.

Whether it's a treasured memento from a night at Fat Sam's, a concert ticket from a favourite band, or a photograph capturing a special occasion, organisers are encouraging people to take a look through their collections and share a piece of Dundee's nightlife history.
