New urban fox mural appears hidden among greenery in Dundee city centre

A striking new fox mural has appeared in Dundee, cleverly tucked away among greenery in the heart of the city.
The artwork is the latest creation by local graffiti artist SYKE, whose real name is Symon Mathieson, and depicts the enormous face of a fox peering out from behind the surrounding trees and plants.
Rather than simply using the wall as a canvas, the mural has been designed to work with its surroundings, with the overgrown vegetation helping to create the impression of a fox hiding among the undergrowth.
SYKE said he had wanted to create the piece at the location for some time and was delighted to finally bring the idea to life.
“Been wanting to paint this in this spot for ages,” he said. “Fits in exactly how I imagined it would. Wee urban fox in the centre of town.
“If you can find him, send me a pic!”
There was also a fitting discovery while the Dundee artist was working on the mural.
After speaking to residents living opposite the site, SYKE learned that a real family of foxes is understood to live among the greenery surrounding the spot.
The mural joins a growing collection of street art created by SYKE across Dundee, with his colourful large-scale works becoming familiar sights around the city.
And for anyone hoping to track down Dundee's newest piece of street art, the artist has turned its exact location into part of the fun - challenging people to find the hidden urban fox for themselves.
