Mills Observatory are hosting a supermoon viewing event this evening

Mills Observatory are inviting folk to witness the stunning Supermoon – a celestial event where the moon appears at its largest and brightest, being at its closest point to Earth this year.

The observatory, known for its prime stargazing location in Balgay Park, will be open from 4pm to 10pm.

Although some cloud cover is forecast, there’s optimism for clear breaks to make the Supermoon visible throughout the evening.

Visitors will have the chance to admire the Supermoon and explore the observatory’s facilities, which include telescopes and expert guidance to help make the most of the night.

For those looking to take a piece of the night sky home, the on-site shop will be stocked with space-themed goods, offering everything from souvenirs to unique gifts.

Whether you’re an experienced stargazer or just looking for a different way to spend your Friday evening, the Supermoon event is a great opportunity to appreciate one of nature’s wonders.
