McManus Galleries to host free Royal Scottish National Orchestra concert this week

A special free live music performance is set to take place at the McManus this week as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra brings a pop-up concert to the city centre.

The performance will take place inside the Victoria Gallery at the McManus on 29 May at 12:45pm, giving visitors the chance to experience live orchestral music in one of Dundee’s most iconic cultural spaces.

Around 10 musicians from Scotland’s National Orchestra will take part in the unique 30-minute performance, with audiences invited to drop in and enjoy the event free of charge.

Set amongst the surroundings of the gallery, the concert promises an intimate and inspiring experience, bringing live classical music closer to the public in an accessible and relaxed setting.

No booking is required for the event, allowing visitors to simply arrive and enjoy the performance during their visit to the museum and gallery.

The McManus has described the event as a fantastic opportunity for people to experience live orchestral music up close in the heart of Dundee.
