Hannah Laing has announced the cancellation of Doof in the Park for 2027

Dundee DJ Hannah Laing has announced that Doof in the Park will not return in 2027, following two hugely successful editions of the festival at Camperdown Park.
Hannah confirmed the disappointing news in a video shared on her official Facebook page on Sunday.
The festival had been scheduled to return on Saturday, 3 July 2027, with thousands of dance music fans expected to descend on Dundee for another celebration of trance, techno and hard dance.
Why has Doof in the Park 2027 been cancelled?
In her announcement, Laing explained that unresolved issues behind the scenes had delayed preparations for the festival.
With the planning process affected and insufficient time remaining to deliver the event to the standard expected, the difficult decision was made to cancel the 2027 edition.
Laing also clarified that Dundee City Council was not responsible for the cancellation.
The announcement comes after tickets had already gone on sale for the festival, with early bird allocations selling out following strong demand.
Ticket holders are expected to receive full refunds.
A festival that put Dundee on the dance music map
Launched in July 2025, Doof in the Park quickly established itself as a major addition to Dundee's summer events calendar.
Created and headlined by Laing, the festival brought internationally recognised electronic music artists to Camperdown Park, attracting thousands of visitors from across Scotland and beyond.
The inaugural festival featured an impressive line-up including Armin van Buuren, Judge Jules and Lisa Lashes, while the second edition in July 2026 welcomed artists including Paul van Dyk, Eddie Halliwell and Maddix.
Beyond the headline performances, the festival also provided opportunities for emerging DJs and local talent to perform alongside established international names.
Its success demonstrated Dundee's ability to host a large-scale electronic music festival, with Laing bringing an ambitious project to life in the city where her musical journey began.
What happens next for Doof in the Park?
Although the cancellation of the 2027 festival will come as a major disappointment to fans, it remains unclear whether Doof in the Park could return in a future year.
The announcement does not diminish the achievements of the festival's first two editions or the contribution Laing has made to Dundee's growing music scene.
From performing at major festivals around the world to creating her own record label, Doof, Laing has continued to champion her hometown throughout her career.
The cancellation represents a significant loss for Dundee's 2027 events calendar, particularly following the festival's rapid rise in popularity.
