Dundee boxer Sam Hickey remains undefeated with seventh straight win

Dundee boxing star Sam Hickey has continued his remarkable unbeaten run, securing his seventh consecutive professional victory following another impressive performance in London!
The 26-year-old Commonwealth Games gold medallist defeated Belgian boxer Amaury Massenaux by technical knockout in the fifth round at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday 7 November, extending his professional record to seven wins from seven fights.
Competing at Zuffa Boxing 12, Hickey gradually increased the pressure on his opponent before landing a series of powerful punches in the fifth round. Massenaux dropped to a knee before the referee eventually stepped in to stop the contest.
The victory takes Hickey's professional record to 7-0, including four knockout victories, further establishing the former Lochee Amateur Boxing Club star as one of Scotland's promising middleweight prospects.
A touching message from his opponent
Following the fight, Massenaux showed tremendous sportsmanship by leaving a personal message on Dundee Culture's social media coverage of Hickey's victory.
"Congratulations bro it was a pleasure and an honnor to share the ring with you," he commented, congratulating the Dundee boxer despite his defeat.
The message was a touching display of mutual respect between the two fighters, highlighting the sportsmanship that exists beyond the competitive nature of professional boxing.
Hickey's latest victory comes as he continues pursuing his ambition of bringing a major professional boxing event to Dundee's Caird Hall, something he recently discussed in an interview with international boxing publication Ring Magazine.
With seven professional victories, an unbeaten record and growing ambitions for a hometown fight, Hickey's rise through the boxing ranks continues to give Dundee plenty to celebrate.
