Eilish McColgan has confirmed she will return to the TCS London Marathon following a remarkable debut performance that rewrote the record books.
The Scottish distance runner impressed on her first appearance over 26.2 miles, delivering one of the standout marathon performances by a Brit in recent years.
Her 2025 run saw her break the Scottish marathon record while also bettering the winning time set by her mother, Liz McColgan, when she claimed victory at the race in 1996.
The performance underlined McColgan’s smooth transition from track and road racing to the marathon distance.
McColgan started 2026 in equally eye-catching form. Earlier this year, she set new European and British records over 10 kilometres at the 10K Valencia Ibercaja by Kiprun, confirming she is carrying exceptional pace into the new season.
With another London appearance confirmed, McColgan will be aiming to build on her debut and push towards further records on one of the world’s biggest running stages.
