A new Netflix series with strong Dundee links is set to arrive next month, with local talent playing a key role both in front of and behind the scenes.

The show, titled Legends, has been written and executive produced by Dundonian Neil Forsyth. His production company, Tannadice Pictures, takes its name from Dundee United’s home ground, adding another local connection to the project.

Set to launch on Netflix on 7 May, the series is already generating interest ahead of its release, with a trailer now circulating online.

The show is based on a true life story of customs officials in the UK in the 1990s who went undercover to infiltrate criminal drugs gangs.

The series features a strong cast led by Steve Coogan, alongside Tom Burke and Hayley Squires. With a mix of drama and real-life inspiration, the show is expected to explore the risks and pressures faced by those working deep undercover during a turbulent period.

The combination of a real-life story, established actors and a detailed period setting is likely to make Legends one of the more talked-about releases on Netflix this spring.

Legends releases on May 7 on Netflix.
