Camperdown Wildlife Centre has some exciting new arrivals – a pair of Emperor Tamarins named Jaxx and Cusco!
The duo arrived at the Dundee attraction last week and have already settled in well to their new home.
Known for their distinctive white moustaches and playful personalities, Emperor Tamarins are small primates native to the Amazon rainforest.
Dundonians have already compared the duo to popular Oor Wullie character, Paw Broon.
They are named after their regal facial hair, which resembles the moustache of a German emperor.
Keepers at Camperdown say the pair are adjusting nicely to their surroundings and have already been spotted exploring their enclosure and interacting with one another.
Visitors can now catch a glimpse of the pair as they become more comfortable in their new environment.
The arrival of Jaxx and Cusco adds to the growing family of animals at Camperdown Wildlife Centre, which continues to play a vital role in conservation, education, and raising awareness about endangered species.
Staff hope the new residents will help inspire more people to learn about the importance of protecting wildlife and preserving the natural habitats where these remarkable creatures live.
