The Met Office has officially declared today as the hottest day of the year for Dundee, with temperatures soaring to an impressive 24 degrees Celsius.

This milestone not only marks a significant day for the city but also contributes to the overall trend of rising temperatures across the country.

The warm weather has been welcomed by many, particularly as it coincides with the Bank Holiday weekend, which has seen record-breaking temperatures of 34.8C in Kew Gardens.

As residents and visitors alike flock to the outdoors, Broughty Ferry Beach has become a popular destination for sun-seekers. Families and friends gathered to enjoy the warmth.

However, temperatures will dip to around 17C, the sunny weather is set to persist, albeit with some cloudy periods. The Met Office has advised residents to enjoy the pleasant weather while it lasts, as the temperature is projected to rise again to 20 degrees by the end of the week.
