Dundee’s music scene is being celebrated after local artists Connor Byrne and Katie Nicoll were named on the longlist for the 2025 Scottish Live Music Awards.
Connor Byrne, from Dundee, has been recognised alongside his band The Bad Kissers, who are in the running for Rock and Metal Live Artist of the Year. The nomination highlights the band’s growing reputation for high energy live performances and their strong following on the Scottish gig circuit.
Katie Nicoll has also earned major recognition, being longlisted in two categories. She is up for both Acoustic Live Artist of the Year and Young Live Artist of the Year, reflecting her rising profile as one of Dundee’s emerging live performers.
The Scottish Live Music Awards celebrate artists, venues and industry figures from across the country, focusing on achievements made during the 2025 live music year.
Although the awards are named for 2025, the ceremony itself will take place in 2026, allowing organisers to review a full year of performances before winners are announced.
For Dundee, the longlist recognition is another sign of the city’s strength in live music, with local artists continuing to gain national attention across a range of genres
