Dundee is getting its own whisky festival this summer

Dundee is set to raise a glass this summer as the city prepares to host its very own whisky festival for the first time.

On 13 June 2026, the iconic Caird Hall in City Square will be transformed into a celebration of Scotland’s national drink, bringing together distilleries, music, art and heritage under one roof.

The new event is being delivered by Slanj Events, the team behind established whisky festivals in Edinburgh and Clackmannanshire.

Their Edinburgh event at Murrayfield Stadium welcomed more than 1,200 attendees last year, and organisers say they are excited to bring that same energy to Dundee, while giving it a distinct local feel.

On the day, visitors will receive a branded Glencairn glass and glass holder lanyard before exploring the festival at their own pace.

Hundreds of whiskies from Scotland and beyond will be available to sample at no extra cost, alongside opportunities to meet distillers and bottlers to hear the stories behind the drams.

There will also be a whisky heritage exhibition featuring artefacts dating back to the early 1700s, as well as a live coopering demonstration from the team at Cambus, part of Diageo.

Beyond the tasting tables, the festival promises live acoustic music, art installations and live painting throughout the hall.

Food will be available from the Caird Hall team, with a fully stocked bar on site. Visitors will also be able to purchase bottles from Woodwinters Wines and Whiskies. The event will support My Name’s Doddie Foundation as its charity partner.

Two sessions will run across the day, each lasting three and a half hours. The first takes place from 12pm to 3.30pm, followed by a second session from 4.30pm to 8pm.

Tickets are available now via the Slanj Events website.
