Dundee’s much loved Fan Park could be gearing up for a spectacular comeback in summer 2026, after organisers teased its possible return following Scotland’s historic qualification for their first World Cup since 1998.
The news has reignited excitement across the city, especially after the Fan Park’s hugely successful stint at Riverside Park during Euro 2024.
The riverside venue proved to be a major hit last year, attracting large crowds for Scotland’s matches and creating one of Dundee’s liveliest atmospheres of the summer.
With space, scenery and the buzz of hundreds of supporters, Riverside Park quickly became a go to destination for football fans wanting to share the highs and lows together.
Following Scotland’s qualification this week, the team behind the Fan Park shared a playful message on social media, hinting that the project might soon come out of “its long winter nap”.
They joked that while supporters were celebrating, they themselves were suddenly realising they might need to get ready for another massive summer.
The tease has already sparked discussions across Dundee, with many calling for the Fan Park to return to the riverside for the 2026 tournament.
Organisers described the announcement as “official, unofficial, semi formal”, but the tone suggests that plans could genuinely be gathering momentum.
If confirmed, the Dundee Fan Park would likely become one of the city’s largest hubs for World Cup celebrations, offering big screens, refreshments and the lively, family friendly atmosphere that made Euro 2024 such a success.
With Scotland back on the world stage for the first time in nearly three decades, the anticipation is already building.
For now, organisers are simply asking Dundonians one question: should the Fan Park make a grand return for World Cup 2026? Judging by the excitement so far, many locals are already shouting “yes”.
