Kanzen for Life has been named winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2025.
The award recognises the charity’s outstanding contribution to community wellbeing, leadership and social impact across Tayside.
The First Minister of Scotland, John Swinney, attended the Glasgow Awards ceremony on Thursday 6th November.
Mr Swinney addressed guests and praised the vital role of social enterprises in tackling inequality and strengthening communities across the country.
The People’s Choice Award, voted for by the public, is recognition for a social enterprise that has made a measurable difference in people’s lives and shown exceptional commitment.
Kanzen for Life supports more than 2,000 people each week through programmes that focus on activity, human connection, wellbeing and leadership.
Charity Chief Officer Roy O’Kane said: “This award means a great deal because it was decided by the public. It reflects the trust, belief and connection we have built with our communities. We genuinely feel that this award belongs to every participant, volunteer, team member and partner. Kanzen for Life is about people supporting people and this award reminds us that when we come together, we can build better lives.”
The charity has recently launched the Kanzen for Life Centre in the Stobswell community of Dundee, a major capital investment designed to transform local access to health, social connection and opportunity.
The total estimated value of the development stands at more than £1million, including the creation of 10 new jobs and a substantial increase in the charity’s capacity to deliver impactful services for people of all ages.
