Dundee & Angus College students record incredible 96.5% satisfaction rate

Dundee & Angus College has recorded some of the highest student satisfaction levels anywhere in Scotland, with its Higher Education students topping the national rankings.

New figures published by the Scottish Funding Council show that 96.5% of the college’s full-time Higher Education students were satisfied with their course during 2025/26.

This ranking sits 3.6 percentage points higher than the national average of 92.9%.

The results were also particularly strong among Further Education students, with 96.8% of Dundee & Angus College’s full-time FE students saying they were satisfied with their college experience.

That compares with a Scottish average of 95.5% and places Dundee & Angus College second in Scotland for full-time FE student satisfaction.

It continues a strong run for the college, which has consistently ranked among Scotland’s leading performers for student satisfaction over recent years.

Simon Hewitt, Principal of Dundee & Angus College, said the results were particularly encouraging following what he described as a challenging year for the further education sector.

He said: “It is heartening to see the satisfaction levels among our students. The overwhelming majority have a positive experience at Dundee & Angus.

“We want everyone who studies with us to have the best experience possible and our team puts in a huge amount of effort to make sure that everyone gets as much as they can out of studying at Dundee & Angus.”

He added that the figures reflected the work being carried out by staff across the college, supporting students ranging from school leavers and people returning to education to those developing new skills or working towards higher-level qualifications.

The results form part of the Scottish Funding Council’s Student Satisfaction and Engagement Survey 2025/26, which measures the experiences of students studying at colleges across Scotland.

Students are asked about different aspects of their college experience, with the findings used to evaluate and improve college provision nationally.

The strong results come as Dundee & Angus College progresses plans for one of the biggest transformations in its history.

Its Vision Project includes proposals for new integrated campuses in Dundee city centre’s Wellgate Centre and in Arbroath, bringing education, skills training, careers advice and employability services together under one roof.

The college says the wider transformation could generate as much as £1.8 billion for the Dundee and Angus region by supporting economic growth, skills development and regeneration.

And with satisfaction already sitting among the highest levels in Scotland, the latest results give Dundee & Angus College a strong foundation as those ambitious plans continue to take shape.
