There is some welcome weather news for Dundee this week as temperatures are set to climb back into double digits for the first time in 2026.

According to the Met Office, the city is forecast to reach 10C on Saturday and 11C on Sunday. While it may not feel like spring just yet, it marks a noticeable shift after weeks of non-stop rain and chilly conditions across the region.

Many Dundonians will have felt that this winter has dragged on, with grey skies and persistent downpours dominating much of January and early February. However, the past few days have already shown signs of improvement, with brighter spells and calmer weather beginning to return.

The move back into double figures is often seen as a psychological turning point. It signals that the harshest part of winter may be starting to ease, even if colder days are still possible ahead.

Longer daylight hours are also helping lift the mood. With sunset creeping later each evening, there is a growing sense that lighter and milder days are on the horizon.

While it is still too early to pack away the winter coats, this weekend’s forecast offers a small but significant reminder that the seasons are slowly changing, and that spring is edging closer for Dundee.
