Ambassador Cruise Line have just teased the idea of a World Cup cruise from Dundee

Scotland’s World Cup success has sparked celebrations across the country, and one playful “announcement” has sent fans into a frenzy.

Ambassador Cruise Line has teased the idea of an “officially unofficial” Tartan Army Party Ship - a light hearted concept shared to celebrate Scotland’s qualification rather than confirmation of a real sailing.

The original post, which hinted at kilts, chants, ceilidhs and plenty of energetic dancing aboard a transatlantic voyage, spread quickly among Scotland fans and particularly across Dundee. The idea was picked up by thousands who were ready to set sail, prompting Ambassador to issue a friendly clarification.

The company confirmed that no North America sailing tied to the Tartan Army is planned for summer 2026, despite the enthusiasm it generated. They reassured travellers that all existing itineraries will go ahead exactly as scheduled, including their Copenhagen visit on 23 July 2026 during the Hidden Gems of the Baltic Sea sailing, where they joked that fans could even be parading a trophy aboard A12616 by then.

Despite the clarification, the excitement highlighted just how passionately supporters embraced the idea. Dundee in particular played a major part in the reaction, with local fans flooding social media to preregister interest before realising the post was shared in good humour.

Ambassador noted that while this specific voyage is not happening, they loved the response and will keep sharing ideas designed to bring a smile to fans’ faces. They also added that if anything like the Tartan Army Party Ship ever did become real, supporters would be the first to hear about it.

For now, the concept remains a fun hypothetical that captured the imagination of Scotland’s supporters, showcasing once again the creativity and spirit of the Tartan Army at home and abroad.
