Abertay student satisfaction rises to 82.6% as university tops Scotland in three subjects

Abertay University has recorded a significant rise in student satisfaction, with new figures placing the institution among Scotland’s best for overall student experience.

Results from the National Student Survey 2025, published today by the Office for Students, show that Abertay achieved an overall satisfaction score of 82.6%, marking an improvement from 2024 and reflecting strong feedback across key areas such as teaching quality and student voice.

The survey also revealed that three of Abertay’s degree programmes – Biomedical Science, Mental Health Nursing and Food Science – were ranked first in Scotland for overall student satisfaction.

In addition, Abertay placed within the top five Scottish universities on the important themes of Assessment & Feedback and Academic Support.

This positive result follows a strong showing in the Complete University Guide 2026, released last month, where Abertay was named Scotland’s top modern university for student satisfaction, research intensity and facilities investment.

Professor Liz Bacon, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Abertay, welcomed the results, saying:

“This strong set of results is a tremendous achievement and highlights the ongoing dedication and excellence of colleagues across the University and the vibrancy of our student community.

The National Student Survey is an independent UK-wide poll of final-year undergraduates and is a key measure of how students rate their time at university.
