Abertay named Scotland’s top modern university for teaching quality and student experience

Abertay University has been named Scotland’s top modern university for both teaching quality and student experience in the 2027 edition of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide.
The Dundee university has also strengthened its position in the overall UK university rankings, adding to a series of positive results for the institution in recent university league tables.
Abertay was ranked 13th out of 130 universities across the UK for teaching quality, placing it among the highest-performing institutions in the country in the category.
The latest Good University Guide assesses universities across a range of measures, including teaching quality, student experience and wider institutional performance.
Celebrating the result, Abertay thanked its staff and students for helping to secure the achievement, describing the latest rankings as something the university was “proud” to have achieved.
The result provides another boost for Dundee’s higher education sector, with both of the city’s universities featuring prominently across major UK university rankings published for 2027.
