A special pop-up exhibition has just opened in Dundee’s Keiller Centre, bringing the iconic Lemmings game back into the spotlight over three decades since it first leapt onto screens around the world.
The exhibition celebrates the legacy of Lemmings, the groundbreaking 1991 computer game developed in Dundee by DMA Design - the studio that would later become Rockstar North, creators of Grand Theft Auto.
This free display is located in Unit 25 and can be viewed through glass, offering a nostalgic journey into one of the city’s most beloved digital creations.

Packed with colourful displays, memorabilia, and nods to the game’s quirky characters and clever level design, the exhibit shines a light on how Lemmings helped establish Dundee as a major player in the global video games industry.
With their trademark green hair and relentless march forward, the Lemmings captured the imagination of millions and became an instant classic.
The pop-up is part of a wider celebration of Dundee’s digital heritage and invites gamers, families, creatives and curious visitors alike to rediscover the charm and innovation behind the puzzle-platform phenomenon.

Whether you grew up guiding the Lemmings to safety or are discovering them for the first time, the exhibition offers a unique window into gaming history.
On loan for a limited time, the exhibit will remain on display until at least October, giving visitors plenty of time to experience the fun.
It’s a reminder of Dundee’s role in shaping interactive entertainment and a chance to appreciate the legacy that continues to inspire developers today.
So next time you’re in the city centre, pop into the Keiller Centre and take a moment to meet the little green-haired characters that made big waves.
