A University of Dundee spin-out business has secured a £3 million investment to expand its work in helping people manage chronic health conditions.
MyWay Digital Health (MWDH), which develops online tools to support patients and healthcare providers, announced the backing from Foresight Group as part of its plans to grow globally.
The company focuses on improving care for people living with long-term conditions, particularly diabetes.
The investment will allow MWDH to build more advanced digital health platforms and introduce artificial intelligence to personalise treatment plans.
By doing so, the team hopes to make health management simpler for patients while also easing pressure on healthcare services.
Debbie Wake, Chief Executive and Co-Founder of MWDH, said the investment marked a “significant milestone” for the company.
She added: “Their support will enable us to accelerate our growth strategy, broaden our product offering, and further expand our global footprint.”
Alongside the funding boost, MWDH has also appointed Dr Umang Patel as its new Non-Executive Chair. Dr Patel brings wide experience from both healthcare and technology and will play a key role in shaping the company’s next stage of development.
The Dundee-based business has already worked with the NHS and international health organisations to deliver digital programmes that improve access to information and support for patients.
With this new investment, it aims to reach even more people worldwide who are living with chronic illnesses.
The success of MWDH is seen as another example of Dundee’s growing reputation for innovation in medicine and technology.
