Xplore Dundee have announced changes to their Christmas and New Year schedules

ree

Xplore Dundee has announced its full timetable arrangements for the Christmas and New Year period, with a mix of normal, Saturday and Sunday service levels in place across the festive season.

The operator has advised passengers to check schedules in advance, as several routes will finish earlier than usual on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay.

On Christmas Eve, most buses will follow a Saturday timetable, though some will end earlier in the evening.

Service 14 will be the only route running to a normal timetable. No buses will operate on Christmas Day, while Boxing Day services will run to a Sunday timetable.

From 27 to 30 December, services switch between Saturday, Sunday and normal schedules, with 29 and 30 December operating as standard.

Similar arrangements will be in place for New Year. Hogmanay will again see most services running to a Saturday timetable with early finishes, aside from Service 14 which continues normally.

No buses will run on New Year’s Day, with Sunday timetables returning on 2 January before normal service resumes on 3 January.

The operator has also published the final evening departures on routes affected by early finishes.

These include last journeys on services 1, 5/5A, 10, 17, 18, 22, 28, 32 and 33, with final departures from the city centre and key neighbourhoods ranging from 18:15 to 19:43.

Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid missing their final bus home during the festive period.

Xplore Dundee’s Fly coaches will follow a separate schedule between Dundee and Edinburgh Airport. The service will run normally on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay, but with early finishes.

There will be no coaches on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Normal timetables will resume from the early hours of 26 December and 2 January, with the first departures leaving Dundee at 02:15 and 00:00 respectively.

Customer service hours

Customer service hours will also change over the holidays. The team will be available on selected dates including Christmas Eve, 27 December, 29 and 30 December, and Hogmanay.

They will close on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, 28 December, New Year’s Day and 2 January, before reopening on 3 January.

Xplore Dundee says the adjusted timetable ensures staff can enjoy the festive period while keeping essential travel running for passengers across the city. Full timetable details are available on their website.
