Dundee celebrates eight national honours for its parks and green spaces

Dundee’s parks and green spaces have once again been recognised on the national stage after receiving eight awards in this year’s Green Flag and Green Flag Community Awards.

The awards, run by environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful, recognise well-managed parks and green spaces that meet high environmental standards while providing welcoming places for local communities and visitors to enjoy.

Among the awards presented this year, a number of Dundee’s parks retained Green Flag status, while community-led spaces were also recognised through the Green Flag Community Awards programme.

The annual awards celebrate the efforts of local authorities, community groups and volunteers who work throughout the year to maintain and improve parks, gardens and public open spaces.

Receiving eight awards highlights Dundee’s continued commitment to protecting and enhancing its green spaces, ensuring they remain attractive, safe and accessible places for residents and visitors alike.

The eight parks and green spaces that won the accolades were:

• Barnhill Rock Garden

• Baxter Park

• Dundee Law

• Riverside Nature Park

• Slessor Gardens and Waterfront Place

• Templeton Woods

• Trottick Ponds Nature Reserve

• Ninewells Community Garden
