A Dundee couple has captured hearts locally after swapping the usual wedding fanfare for something a bit more down-to-earth - a post-ceremony stop at The Topped Tattie.
Still dressed in their wedding gear, the bride and groom were spotted tucking into baked tatties at the popular takeaway near Mains Castle, drawing smiles (and maybe a few second glances) from staff and passers-by.
A video, filmed by the team at The Topped Tattie, shows the newlyweds picking up a box of loaded tatties from the kiosk, with Mains Castle providing the perfect fairytale backdrop.
The clip captures the joyful moment the couple step up to collect their order, posing with their meal and sharing a laugh with staff before heading off to enjoy their food.
It’s since gained attention online, with many praising the couple’s fun and relatable approach to celebrating their big day.
The Topped Tattie shared a snap of the happy couple on Facebook, writing:
“We had our first ever bride and groom on Saturday… haven’t seen this done yet 😂. Congratulations guys, all the best.”
Dean Duncan from The Topped Tattie said:
“The groom was actually here today for a tattie - his box was empty on Saturday, he wasn’t impressed [laughs]. But he allowed us to make the video for TikTok. They are a fantastic couple!”
Since opening in May, the takeaway has become a fast favourite for its loaded portions and creative toppings. It’s built such a following that a recent baked tattie giveaway saw the spuds disappear in a matter of hours.
As wedding receptions go, this one kept it simple — just love, laughter, and a couple of tatties piled high.
