Two Dundee bakeries have been recognised among the very best in the UK as the shortlist for the National Bakery Awards 2025 is unveiled.
The awards, which highlight outstanding bakeries across every region of the country, have named Clarks Bakery and Fisher & Donaldson as two of Dundee’s top representatives from Scotland.
Both have become staples in the city’s food culture, winning loyal followings for their signature treats.
Clarks Bakery, often dubbed “the home of the famous Dundee pie”, has long been a favourite with late-night snackers and early morning customers alike. Its reputation for hearty, freshly baked goods has kept generations of Dundonians coming back for more.
Fisher & Donaldson, with its 100-year history and famous fudge doughnuts, is another name synonymous with Dundee.
The bakery, which has shops across Tayside and Fife, has built a reputation not just locally but nationally, often praised for its traditional recipes and innovative creations.
The winners are set to be announced on 25 November at Big Penny Social in Walthamstow, London.
This year’s shortlist features 87 bakeries from across the UK, from family-run shops to well-loved institutions.
The inclusion of two Dundee businesses underlines the city’s strong presence on the national food map.
