The King’s Trust hosted a special event in Dundee at the end of January, bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs, established founders and local support organisations as part of its Ecosystem Pathways-funded Enterprise For All project.
Held on Thursday 29 January at DC Thomson’s Meadowside headquarters, the event welcomed more than 50 attendees for an evening focused on breaking down barriers to entrepreneurship.
Through practical advice, professional support and first-hand stories from young people already building businesses, the session aimed to open doors for those considering less traditional career paths.

The Dundee event highlighted the strength of the city’s enterprise ecosystem, with contributors including Business Gateway and Launch It Dundee, alongside young founders who have successfully turned ideas into sustainable ventures.
Among the speakers was Robbie Tolson, founder of Turn The Tables. His journey from DJ to social entrepreneur has earned international recognition, including a place on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.
Robbie shared his experiences of building a purpose-driven business, offering inspiration and practical insight to those at the start of their own journeys.
Hosting the event in partnership with DC Thomson also underscored Dundee’s growing reputation for creativity, innovation and enterprise.

The city continues to support new ideas across creative industries, technology and social enterprise, with The King’s Trust playing a key role in expanding opportunities for young people locally.
The King’s Trust offers an ongoing Enterprise programme designed to remove obstacles to self-employment and business ownership for those aged 18–30.
The programme provides one-to-one mentoring, expert guidance, skills workshops and access to funding. Participants can receive up to £500 to test a business idea and up to £5,000 to help launch a new venture.
