The Howff Secret Supper Club: Dundee restaurant has just been named the best in Scotland

A Dundee dining experience like no other has been crowned Scotland’s Restaurant of the Year.

The Howff Secret Supper Club, located at 5B Bank Street, is a unique underground supper club tucked away beneath the city, and it took home the top honour at the Food Awards Scotland, held in Glasgow.

The award recognises the restaurant’s inventive approach to fine dining, with its ever-changing menus and immersive supper club experiences proving a hit with diners and judges alike.

The Howff is unlike a traditional restaurant. Guests enter through its Cooking Academy before descending into a working basement kitchen, where they are treated to a seasonal eight-course tasting menu that changes every two months.

Special themed events, such as a recent Austin Powers-inspired supper, have also captured the imagination of food lovers across Scotland.

Following the award win, the Howff team revealed demand has soared. In a statement, they said:

“We are delighted to announce that following an influx of enquiries due to the announcement of winning the Scottish Restaurant of the Year award, we have managed to open up a couple of extra dates in our calendar for the upcoming months.

We currently have limited spaces for various dates to now book into for September, and are now running the following services in October: Friday 10th, Saturday 11th, Friday 17th, and Saturday 18th. Thank you as always for all the support and we hope to see you dine with us soon!”

With places in high demand, bookings are expected to sell out quickly as food lovers look to sample the city’s award-winning dining experience.

The accolade places Dundee firmly on the culinary map, adding to the city’s growing reputation as a destination for food and drink innovation.
