The Great Britain XVI Rail Tour Arrives In Dundee Today


The Great Britain XVI Rail Tour is arriving in Dundee today.


The Great Britain XVI Rail Tour will see the historic LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 No. 44871, a preserved British steam locomotive that was built at Crewe Works in 1945, arrive in the city this afternoon.


After kickstarting on 13 April, the train left London Victoria Station to travel up to Scotland, where it passed Glasgow ahead of a two-day stay in Inverness, now the iconic steam train is bound for the City of Discovery today.


The train is due to arrive in Broughty Ferry at 2.30pm before staying at Dundee for an hour at 2.45pm.


After leaving Dundee, the locomotive train arrives at Edinburgh Waverley in the late evening as the journey continues ahead of its conclusion on Sunday when it arrives at London Paddington.
