Dundee is set to enjoy another spell of sunshine this week, with the Met Office forecasting temperatures to soar to 26°C by Friday – continuing what has already been a warm and settled summer for the city.
After several weeks of sunshine and mild conditions, the city is now heading into an even hotter stretch, with daily highs reaching well into the 20s. The week begins with 24°C on both Tuesday and Wednesday, rising to 25°C on Thursday, before hitting a peak of 26°C on Friday.
The warm conditions aren’t expected to end there. Saturday will stay hot with 25°C, followed by 22°C on Sunday and 23°C on Monday, giving locals and visitors a chance to make the most of the outdoors across the week.
While the sunshine will be welcomed by many, especially during the school holidays and summer events, the Met Office is encouraging people to stay safe in the heat.
That includes keeping hydrated, wearing sunscreen i, and avoiding too much time in direct sunlight during the peak hours of the day.
The warm weather continues a positive trend for summer in Dundee, with recent weeks offering plenty of bright skies, comfortable temperatures, and only brief spells of rain. It’s been a welcome change from the damp summers of recent years.
As the city gears up for one of its hottest days so far, many will be heading to local parks, beaches, and events to enjoy the sunshine.
