The penultimate day of the 2026 Commonwealth Games saw Dundee's Mark Stewart return to the velodrome for his second event of the Games, while another athlete with a Dundee connection also impressed on the athletics track.
Although Stewart was unable to add to his silver medal from Friday, he produced another strong ride to finish among the Commonwealth's best. Elsewhere, Giving Back to Track recipient Rebecca Grieve helped Scotland to a top-five finish in the inaugural mixed 4x400m relay.
Here's how Team Tayside got on.
🚴 Mark Stewart records another top-six finish
Fresh from winning Commonwealth silver in the men's elimination race, Dundee's Mark Stewart returned to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome for the men's scratch race.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games points race champion was once again in the mix throughout the race, ultimately crossing the line in sixth place in another highly competitive field. With one event still to come, Stewart remains in contention to finish his Games on another high.
🏃 Giving Back to Track recipient Rebecca Grieve helps Scotland to fifth
Eilish McColgan's Dundee-based Giving Back to Track initiative was represented once again on the Commonwealth Games stage as recipient Rebecca Grieve helped Scotland to an impressive fifth-place finish in the mixed 4x400m relay.
After helping Scotland qualify for the final on Friday, Grieve returned to the track as the Scottish quartet produced another strong performance to secure a top-five finish against some of the Commonwealth's strongest relay nations.
Grieve is one of several athletes to have benefited from Giving Back to Track, the initiative founded by Commonwealth champion Eilish McColgan and fellow Olympian Michael Rimmer to support promising female athletes across Scotland.
