Team Tayside’s Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign got underway on the opening day of competition, with Perth swimmer Jensen Norris becoming the first local athlete to represent Team Scotland.
Making his senior Commonwealth Games debut at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Norris featured in Scotland’s men’s 4x100m freestyle relay as he began what would prove to be a busy few days in the pool.

Perth’s Jensen Norris made his senior Commonwealth Games debut as part of Scotland’s men’s 4x100m freestyle relay team.
Competing in the relay heats, Norris helped Scotland finish fifth overall as they opened their swimming campaign at Glasgow 2026. It marked an important milestone for the Perth swimmer, who earned his place on Team Scotland after an impressive season and became the first Team Tayside athlete to compete at this year’s Games.
