Learn to Skate lessons at Dundee Ice Arena have sold out across multiple sessions, as interest in ice skating surges in the city.
The sell-outs come amid excitement around the Winter Olympics which are currently taking place in Milano-Cortina in Italy.
A major factor behind the spike in demand is the Olympic debut of Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby, who train at Dundee Ice Arena.
Their performances have captured national attention and sparked renewed interest locally, inspiring many Dundonians and locals to step onto the ice themselves.
Following a Dundee Culture article published on 20 January highlighting the arena’s Learn to Skate programme, several sessions quickly reached full capacity. Since then, demand has continued to rise, with parents and adults alike eager to book places.

In recent weeks, a number of popular early evening sessions have sold out completely. Learn to Skate classes running from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on multiple Mondays and Tuesdays were fully booked in advance, with organisers confirming that no tickets were available on the door.
Dundee Ice Arena has encouraged people to book early, particularly for end-ice sessions where spaces are limited.
The surge also highlights the impact elite sport can have at grassroots level. With Dundee skaters competing on the biggest stage in winter sport, more people are being inspired to give skating a try, whether for fitness, fun, or future competition.
As the Winter Olympics continue, demand for Learn to Skate lessons is expected to remain high.
