A new global buffet restaurant has been approved for Dundee, with plans to transform the former Arnold Clark showroom on East Dock Street into a large dining venue.
Hot World Cuisine confirmed that Dundee City Council has given the go-ahead for its proposal, paving the way for the creation of a new restaurant that will feature a range of international dishes from across Asia, Europe and beyond.
The development aims to bring a “world-class buffet experience” to the city, according to the company, which says the restaurant will offer a mix of freshly prepared meals and live cooking stations in a family-friendly environment.
Hot World Cuisine also highlighted its plans to support the local economy by creating new jobs and working with local suppliers where possible. The company described its vision as one that celebrates global food culture while adding to Dundee’s growing dining scene.
The East Dock Street location, which has remained vacant since Arnold Clark moved out, is set to be converted into the restaurant over the coming months. No official opening date has been announced yet, but the team behind Hot World Cuisine said further updates will be shared soon.
If completed, the restaurant would add to Dundee’s expanding range of food and drink offerings, particularly along the city’s waterfront and surrounding areas.
