First look inside Dundee’s new Malones pub as plans revealed for former BrewDog site

New images have revealed a first look at how Dundee’s new Malones pub could look when it opens in the city centre.
The Irish bar is set to move into the former BrewDog premises on Panmure Street, within the historic old Commerce building, bringing a new use to the prominent city centre venue.
Artist impressions released ahead of the opening show a traditional pub-style interior, with dark wood panelling, exposed stonework, warm lighting and long communal tables alongside booth seating.
The designs also feature a large bar lined with illuminated bottles and beer taps, while Irish-themed signage, Guinness branding and vintage-style artwork can be seen throughout the proposed interior.
One section appears to include a small live music area, complete with a microphone and guitar, suggesting entertainment could form part of the venue’s offering.
References to Dundee have also been worked into the designs, including street signs for places such as Commercial Street and Dromana Road, while Malones Dundee branding features prominently throughout.
The new pub will take over a space previously occupied by BrewDog, which operated from the distinctive former Dundee Chamber of Commerce building on Panmure Street.
Malones already operates Irish bars elsewhere in Scotland and is known for live music, sport and a traditional pub atmosphere.
Further details on the Dundee venue, including its opening date, are expected to be announced ahead of its launch.
