Eilish McColgan has once again made headlines, storming to victory at the Vitality London 10K and securing her third win at the event.
The achievement puts her level with five-time Olympian Jo Pavey for the most titles at the race, a milestone that further cements McColgan’s place among Britain’s best distance runners.
Clocking in at 30 minutes and 35 seconds, the Dundonian not only claimed the title but also delivered the fastest 10K time by a British woman this year.
It is another proud moment for the city that has followed her career since her early days training on Dundee’s tracks, where she first showed the determination that would carry her to Commonwealth Games glory back in Birmingham in 2022.
The 33-year-old held off tough competition from Jessica Warner-Judd, who finished in 31:14, and Alexandra Bell, who crossed the line at 31:31.
Both posted times that rank among the UK’s quickest this year, but it was McColgan who proved uncatchable on the streets of London.
This latest success comes in a season already full of highlights. Earlier this month, she finished third at the Great North Run, and back in April she smashed the Scottish record at the London Marathon.
Each race is building her form ahead of her much-anticipated debut at the New York City Marathon in November.
For Dundee, McColgan’s triumphs continue to inspire the next generation of athletes training across the city.
As she prepares to take on one of the biggest marathons in the world, McColgan’s supporters back home will be watching closely. Her journey from Dundee to the global stage shows no signs of slowing down - and if her recent form is anything to go by, there may be more record-breaking moments still to come.

Eilish McColgan’s victory in the Vitality London 10K is truly inspiring — her determination and pace were incredible to watch. It’s moments like these that remind me how important it is to stay active and consistent, whether it’s running, training, or even playing sports that keep both mind and body sharp. Lately, I’ve been getting into pickleball, which has become a fun way to improve my agility and coordination. The right gear makes a big difference, especially quality pickleball balls, which help keep every match fast and precise. I’ve found great options on PickleProShop that really enhance the game.
