Dundee is getting more Ember stops on one of its newest routes

The new E11 route has been in operation since last month.
The new E11 route has been in operation since last month.

Electric bus operator Ember is adding several new stops to its long-distance E11 service - giving Dundee passengers even more options for travel to the Cairngorms and Aberdeen Airport.

The service, which first launched in July, currently connects Dundee with Blairgowrie, Braemar, Banchory and Aberdeen Airport.

But from 1 October, it will call at four new locations across Dundee as well as additional stops in Angus and Perthshire.

In the city, new stops will include Marketgait, Lochee, Dryburgh and Lawside (Lochee Road near Rankine Street), improving links for residents across the west and north of Dundee.

Beyond the city, Ember will now serve Sidlaw Gardens in Birkhill, Piperdam, Coupar Angus and Bridge of Cally, opening up easier access for passengers across Angus and Perthshire.

For those heading further afield, the route will also extend to Spittal of Glenshee, the Glenshee Ski Centre and near Balmoral Castle, as well as communities in Deeside.

This expansion means Dundee residents will be able to reach destinations like Aberdeen Airport (£10.10 single), Braemar (£8.60), or simply hop to Blairgowrie (£4.10) or Coupar Angus (£3.40) without needing a car.

Ember advises tickets should be booked at least 10 minutes before boarding, with two daily return services currently operating on the route.

The changes strengthen Dundee’s role as a key hub in Ember’s growing network,  offering greener, affordable travel links across Scotland. This development comes a week after the company sobmitted plans to open up a transport depot near City Quay.
