Dundee’s transport links to Edinburgh Airport are set to improve further following the introduction of a new direct, hourly bus connection operated by Ember.
The electric coach company has confirmed that passengers travelling from Dundee will now be able to stay on board all the way to the airport terminal, with buses stopping directly outside Edinburgh Airport every hour. The update removes the need for passengers to change services before reaching the terminal.
Dundee already benefits from strong airport connectivity through established services. Xplore Dundee’s FLY bus has been operating successfully for a number of years, while FlixBus also runs direct services between Dundee and Edinburgh Airport. The addition of Ember’s terminal stop adds further choice for travellers and increases flexibility when planning journeys.
Previously, Ember passengers travelling to the airport were required to disembark at Ingliston Park and Ride and continue their journey by tram.
While workable, this added extra steps to the journey and made travel less convenient for those with luggage or tight schedules.
Under the updated arrangement, a single ticket now covers the full journey from Dundee to the airport terminal, with a single fare priced at £9.55.
The service operates on an hourly basis and uses electric vehicles, offering a lower-emission option for longer-distance travel.
The change reflects Ember’s rapid growth in recent years, with the operator expanding its network across Scotland and building a strong customer base.
Combined with existing airport bus services, the new connection further strengthens Dundee’s links to Scotland’s main international gateway.
