Dundee FC submits final plans for proposed Camperdown stadium

Dundee FC has reached a major milestone in its plans for a new stadium after confirming that all required documentation for the proposed Camperdown development has now been submitted to Dundee City Council.
The club announced on Monday that the latest submission marks the culmination of almost two years of detailed discussions between project consultants, Dundee City Council planners and Transport Scotland, following the original Planning Permission in Principle application submitted in February 2024.
According to the club, extensive engagement has taken place with stakeholders throughout the planning process to address feedback and strengthen the application. Dundee FC says it now believes every requirement has been met and is looking forward to the proposal being considered at the next available meeting of the council’s planning committee.
The proposed Camperdown Stadium Project has long been described by the club as transformational for Dundee FC, with ambitions extending far beyond football. Club officials believe the development could become a significant catalyst for regeneration, bringing social, leisure and economic benefits while helping secure the long-term future of the club both on and off the pitch.
Dark Blue Group Managing Director John Nelms thanked supporters for their patience during what he described as a lengthy planning process, acknowledging that many fans had become frustrated by the time taken to reach this stage.
He said there had been occasions throughout the process, which first began back in 2017, when his own frustrations had surfaced, but explained that much of the work needed to remain private while discussions continued with planners and other stakeholders.
Nelms added that, having completed everything requested by the relevant authorities and respected the planning process throughout, the club now places its faith in Dundee’s elected representatives as they prepare to consider the application.
Should planning permission ultimately be approved, the Camperdown Stadium Project would represent one of the biggest developments in Dundee FC’s history and one of the most significant sporting infrastructure projects the city has seen in recent decades.
