Dundee Culture has been named a finalist in the Scottish Influencer Awards

Dundee Culture has been named a finalist in the Scottish Influencer Awards 2026.

The social media brand, run by Andrew Batchelor, has been shortlisted in the Arts & Culture category, recognising his work in promoting Dundee through one of the city’s most widely followed online platforms.

Launched over a decade ago, Dundee Culture has grown into a major digital presence showcasing the city’s people, places and events. In recent years, the platform has expanded beyond social media with the relaunch of its website, introducing original news, features and cultural coverage.

The nomination comes following a period of significant activity for Dundee Culture, including its role in raising awareness and saving Mills Observatory from closure. The observatory went on to record its strongest ever season in 2024–25 and has since secured long-term support.

Alongside this, the platform has continued to develop new opportunities within the city, including supporting emerging talent and helping establish international cultural links, with Dundee gaining representation in a museum exhibition in Toronto.

Speaking ahead of the awards, Andrew said he was “really honoured” to be recognised, describing the nomination as a reflection of the journey Dundee Culture has been on since it first launched.

The Scottish Influencer Awards celebrate content creators across a range of categories, highlighting those making an impact in their respective fields.

The awards ceremony will take place on 3 May at Radisson RED Glasgow, where winners across each category will be announced.
