Dundee’s iconic Discovery Point has once again earned global recognition after receiving a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2025.
The award places the much-loved attraction among the top 10% of things to do worldwide, based on consistently high ratings and reviews from visitors.
The Travellers’ Choice Awards are given annually to experiences, restaurants, and destinations that stand out for exceptional quality, service, and visitor satisfaction. With reviews submitted by millions of travellers across the globe, the award reflects genuine feedback and visitor experiences.
Discovery Point is the proud home of the RRS Discovery, the legendary ship that carried Captain Scott and his crew to Antarctica in 1901. The museum offers an immersive look into the world of polar exploration, blending history with interactive displays and panoramic views of Dundee’s waterfront.
Taking to Facebook, Discovery Point said, “Our greatest thanks to all of our team, our volunteers, our supporters, our friends and collaborators, and of course our wonderful visitors.
“We’re an independent charity, and every visit aboard the RRS Discovery helps us continue to care for this magnificent historic ship, as well as continue to spark curiosity at Discovery Point, to inspire thousands of young learners through our learning programme, to share remarkable exhibitions with thousands, to host special events aboard the RRS Discovery and more.”
This latest award comes as Discovery Point continues to develop through its ongoing transformation project, which includes new digital exhibitions, improved visitor facilities, and expanded educational spaces.
The recognition highlights Discovery Point not only as one of Dundee’s leading attractions, but also as a globally appreciated destination for culture, learning, and history.
