Comedian Phill Jupitus to DJ at new Dundee club night alongside Dicky Trisco
Comedian and former BBC radio presenter Phill Jupitus is heading to Dundee later this month for a brand new club night alongside internationally renowned DJ Dicky Trisco.
The pair will take over CANVAS Dundee on Saturday 17 October for Enjoy Yourself, an evening featuring a mix of punk, reggae, funk, new wave and ska music.
Jupitus is best known for his appearances on the BBC comedy panel show Never Mind the Buzzcocks, but he also has an extensive background in music broadcasting. In 2002, he presented the very first show on BBC 6 Music, where he went on to host the breakfast programme for five years. He now lives in Fife.
Joining him is Dundee-based DJ and music producer Dicky Trisco, who has spent more than two decades performing internationally at venues and festivals including Glastonbury, Space and Pikes in Ibiza, and House of Yes in New York.
Dicky also has strong connections to Dundee’s nightlife, having spent ten years as a resident DJ at the former Reading Rooms, alongside residencies at Kings and Underworld. He has also established several record labels and has spent the past two years working on his first solo album.
The new Enjoy Yourself night brings the pair together for an upbeat evening celebrating several different musical genres. Advance tickets are now available through Resident Advisor, ahead of the event at CANVAS Dundee on Saturday 17 October.
