The Dundee Rep have announced their Christmas show for 2024: "Oor Wullie The Musical".
Dundee Rep Theatre has announced that their Christmas production this year will be "Oor Wullie – The Musical." which will run from 23 November until 30 December this year.
The play, celebrating over 85 years of the beloved Scottish comic strip, will run throughout the festive season.
The musical, which features characters such as Wullie, Primrose, Boab, Soapy Soutar, and Wee Eck, is produced in collaboration with the award-winning writing team Noisemaker.
Following the success of last year’s production of "A Christmas Carol," this year's show promises to deliver an engaging and entertaining experience for audiences of all ages.
"Oor Wullie – The Musical" returns to the stage after a successful tour across Scotland in 2019-2020.
The production is noted for its vibrant and energetic performance, staying true to the spirit of the original comic strip while incorporating new catchy tunes and cheeky capers.
Dundee Rep Theatre's Artistic Director expressed enthusiasm for bringing this iconic character back to the stage, highlighting the show's appeal to both long-time fans and new audiences.
The production aims to celebrate the enduring legacy of Oor Wullie, a character who has remained a significant part of Scottish culture for over eight decades.
