Dundee will soon have a new fitness hub with the opening of ACTIVE 9BX at the start of September.

The HYROX-affiliated training facility is built for running, lifting and functional fitness, making it the first space of its kind in the city.

It is designed for anyone with a fitness goal, whether that’s training for a first HYROX race, chasing a personal best, or simply looking for a new way to stay active.

Based at the Athletics Block in the Regional Performance Centre on Mains Loan, Active 9BX offers more than a standard gym.

The site includes a purpose-built training space, indoor and outdoor running tracks, and all the key equipment used in HYROX competitions.

Certified instructors will run classes and open gym sessions, while members will also get access to exclusive HYROX events and early bird race tickets.

How much does membership cost?

Flexible memberships mean people can train in a way that suits them. A single session costs £7, while a 14-day Unlimited Pass is available for £20.

Those who want broader access can join through Active Unlimited for £32 per month, which also includes entry to ten other Active Dundee venues.

Concession, corporate and student discounts are available, with options to add family or friends at reduced rates.

New facility to launch training programs

The facility will run HYROX365, a year-round training programme with sessions for all levels.

Beginners will be able to build confidence with guided workouts, while experienced competitors can sharpen their skills with race simulations and HYRUN classes.

Bookings open eight days in advance for Active Unlimited members and three days in advance for non-members.

As Dundee’s first dedicated HYROX training club, Active 9BX aims to create a community built on support and performance.

With its mix of expert coaching, specialist equipment and flexible memberships, the new venue is set to become a major destination for fitness in the city when it opens at the end of August.
