A new esports summer camp is launching at Dundee & Angus College for youngsters - here’s how they can join

Dundee and Angus College is inviting young gamers to take part in an exciting new Esports Summer Camp, launching at the end of June and set to run throughout the summer holidays.

Open to children aged 6 to 12, the week-long camps will take place at the College’s Gardyne Campus, making full use of its state-of-the-art Esports Studios—Scotland’s first purpose-built facility of its kind. The camps will run across three weeks: week commencing 30th June, 4th August and 11th August.

Designed to be both fun and educational, the Esports Summer Camp blends exciting on-screen gameplay with off-screen activities that promote creativity, coding and teamwork.

“Our week-long summer camp is perfect for kids who love gaming!” said a spokesperson for Dundee and Angus College. “We mix exciting gameplay with engaging off-screen activities in a safe space to help them learn about gaming, coding, esports and build important skills like teamwork and leadership.”

Across the week, kids will learn how to create gaming characters, set up an esports team, and even programme their own storyline and game concept.

The camp will culminate in a competitive esports tournament held in the College’s high-spec studios, offering young participants a taste of the real esports experience.

Dundee and Angus College has established itself as a leader in esports education in Scotland. It was the first college in the country to introduce an esports qualification and the first to open a purpose-built studio space tailored to the growing field.

The camp runs from 9am to 12pm each day, with the option to book individual half-day sessions at £9 or the full week for £45. Spaces are limited, and those interested are encouraged to book early by contacting l.louch@dundeeandangus.ac.uk.
