A new bar and restaurant is set to open in Dundee this week, with Tay Square Bar and Kitchen preparing to welcome its first customers.

Located in the city centre on Tay Street, the venue will officially open its doors on Wednesday from 11am, bringing a fresh food and drink offering to the area.

The new spot will serve a wide-ranging menu, including classic pub favourites, burgers, curries and brunch options.

Dishes on offer include steak pie, chicken parmo, loaded fries and a selection of burgers, alongside lighter options such as salads and snacks.

A dedicated brunch menu will also feature dishes paired with cocktails as part of a boozy brunch experience.

The venue will cater to a range of visitors, with options including a kids menu and a senior dining offering, as well as sharers like wings and nachos. Prices across the menu span from lighter bites under £10 to main meals in the £12 to £16 range.

Originally, the venue had been planned under the name “The Social”, with the intention of reviving a well-known name linked to the Tay Street location.

However, management confirmed that issues led to a rethink, with the final name chosen following input from their followers on their Facebook page.

Now branded as Tay Square Bar and Kitchen, the team say they are looking forward to opening and bringing the space back into use once again.
