A new neurodevelopmental support hub is set to open in Tayside, aimed at providing better assistance for autistic individuals and those with ADHD.
This initiative will bring together services from health, education, and the third sector, and will be delivered through NHS Tayside.
The Scottish Government has announced an investment of £3.4 million for neurodevelopment support services across the country, which includes autism and ADHD services. This funding is part of a broader effort to enhance support for neurodivergent individuals in Scotland.
The new hub in Tayside is based on a successful model already implemented in Edinburgh. The expansion aims to replicate the positive outcomes seen in Edinburgh by integrating various services to create a more cohesive support system.
This initiative is part of the Scottish Government's national plans to improve neurodevelopment pathways for autism, ADHD, and related conditions. These plans have been discussed in various strategic documents, including the NHS Recovery Plan for 2021-2026.
The establishment of the neurodevelopmental support hub has been positively received by families, parents, and neurodivergent individuals in the Tayside region. Many see it as a significant step forward in providing necessary support and resources.
