Broughty Castle is the setting for a special pop-up market today, running from now until 4pm.
The event is being organised by The Yard Market, a local group known for hosting regular markets at the Steeple Church in Dundee.
This marks a welcome boost for the historic castle, which was under threat of closure last year. The return of community events like this signals a renewed effort to make use of the iconic venue.
Entry to the market is £2 and features a range of local traders, offering everything from handmade crafts to food and drink, creating a lively atmosphere in the heart of Broughty Ferry.
However, visitors are advised to prepare for the weather, as a yellow rain warning is in place from 12pm. Anyone heading to the castle should bring appropriate clothing and plan ahead for the changing conditions.
Today’s market is part of a wider push to keep the castle active and engaged with the local community. Its scenic location and historic setting continue to make it a popular spot for both residents and visitors.
